Meet the Trainer

Travis Yantes – Owner / Lead Behavioral Trainer (Houston)

Working with dogs for most of my life caused me to quickly discover that there is nothing more rewarding than helping people and their canine companions.  Driven by this belief, it comes as no surprise that I chose to build on my passion for working with dogs becoming a professional dog trainer.

Prior to my current role, I earned a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Project Management as well as an associate degree in Construction Management.  After this, I worked in the oil and gas industry for Fluor and BP for six years apiece.  When the economic downturn caused hundreds of thousands to be laid off in the oil and gas industry, I was immediately grateful for my thriving dog training business.  Since then, I’ve never looked back.

When I am not training dogs, you can find me outdoors fishing, duck hunting, or watching the sunrise. I love to entertain people and have been told that my BBQ is second to none.  I have three amazing dogs of my own: Gunner, a Black Lab who is a ball of energy, my goofy German Shepherd Dax and his spoiled twin Karma. It’s impossible not to love all dogs, but German Shepherds are among my favorites to train.  I look forward to meeting you and your dog to help ensure you have a companion you can trust for life.

TCDT Training Facility

Our facility is 2,000 SQ FT. and out back we have installed we have installed Ideal Turf for our training area and play area for our dogs. We decided that keeping our turf cool for our dog to play and train was important to us. We spent the extra money and install T°Cool infill on our turf. Here is how it works

T°Cool® infill works on the same principles as human perspiration. Stored moisture is slowly released from treated sand infill, removing heat energy and allowing the synthetic turf field to cool. T°Cool — Cools Off Hot Turf: A patented infill technology that drastically reduces the surface temperature of artificial grass through the natural process of evaporative cooling. The T°Cool® Technology captures water from rainfall, dew, or irrigation and stores it for later use. As the sun’s radiation heats up turf, T°Cool releases moisture, keeping the surface cool for up to four days from a single moisture event.

Our turf area dimension is 39×60 ft for an incredible play area and training area. Our dogs love our turf. Coming soon we will be installing professional kennels for our dog boarding clients. We will also be offering grooming, bathing, nail trims and doggie boutique. Check us out on Facebook and we always invite you to stop by our facility.
